Purple and White Frilly Iris

A while back I took a few photographs of a patch of frilly, purple and white iris blossoms. The following photos are all the same type of iris, but each one was from a different patch of flowers in the garden.

This iris stem was growing upside down, hanging below the planter box, just above a cobblestone walkway. Though I didn’t see these little creatures when I was taking the photograph, you can see a few tiny red mites crawling on the blossom.
