STARDUST GAMES
I have completed another illustration in the spirit of having fun and enjoying the out of doors on Canada Day.
The idea for this illustration first came to me after seeing an amazing landscape photo by the very talented photographer Steve Hallmark. With many thanks once again, Steve has graciously allowed me to use his photograph to create the backdrop for this illustration.
The name of this piece came to me after listening to the original 1970’s soundtrack of ‘Woodstock’, by Joni Mitchell. The clothing and headpiece of the young lady, the golden rocks in the air, the green and pink crystals in the grass and even the tree, are all created from various types of naturally occurring mineral formations – the initial ‘Stardust’ of our planet’s creation.
I wanted this piece to reflect harmony with an element of fun. So I decided to select a few different animal species, all gathered in the field for a game of ‘Stardust’. At least the mice and the birds seem intrigued.
